-100 lbs for Josh and I

End of July marked a total of 100lbs released between us (Josh -40lbs, Aimee -60lbs) since January. I wanted to post this comparison photo and document the 100lbs released in a period of 6-7 months, as you can see just in our faces the difference.
My husband has NEVER had weight issues but gained the 40lbs in 2014 when he was polydrugged with several medications. After almost 3 years of being off of the meds, the weight literally has dropped off the past few months without any change on his part. We joke that his subconscious is tired of me talking about emotional reasons for keeping weight on that it finally released the excess weight for him.
Only a few have known about my journey since January and even fewer have seen the progress pictures which one day I will show, when I get brave as I hid behind the camera for years and there are not a whole lot of pictures at my heaviest. For me its taken alot of emotional releasing and becoming more in tune with my body. From feeling like I had to finish everything my kids didn't eat to not waste it, to mindlessly eating during stressful times without listening to my body telling me it was full.
Im now at 170lbs and haven't seen this number since 5.5 years ago after I did intense beachbody workouts and working my butt off for months, depriving myself, restricting foods and counting calories to lose just 15lbs!! Once I stopped working out, and dieting it of course all came back quickly. This time I started out much much heavier with the weight I put on after Josh got sick almost 4 years ago from stress/comfort/mindless eating, etc. BUT this time has been so effortless compared to times before, its been amazing and I still eat all my favorite foods as not once have I restricted certain foods, dieted or even worked out once during this 7 month time frame. Its crazy how society/magazines,etc tells us how to lose weight. When in reality all it takes is simply listening to our body! Its hard to believe that I could release so much without working out and dieting.
Im going to keep eating what I want when Im hungry and watching my body heal on the spiritual, emotional and the physical level. I haven't had any hip pain in months which has been amazing as it was debilitating some days. I have more energy and all around feel so much better.
Moral of the story: Listen to YOUR body. Every single Body is so unique. Listen to it.
