A fun comparison and why weight doesn't always correlate to size.....The skirt I am wearing in the right picture is a Size M. I remember the day in high school when I bought it at the mall. I squeezed into it, vowing to fit in it one day as I was normally a size Large. I dieted and exercised and still found myself fearful of it ripping anytime I would have to sit down while wearing it. Needless to say I never fit in it comfortably but it was one of the items of clothing I couldn't part with over the years.
Fast forward to a few weeks ago, I realized I was the same weight as I had been when I got that skirt in high school and decided to try it on. Not only was it super loose, but it was too big to wear as I had to keep pulling it up. I then pulled out some pictures from high school to compare and show the same weight doesn't correlate to the same size. I am amazed at the difference of sizes at the same weight!
I was just going to show the high school picture to now but without the middle picture, I don't think it is as shocking. For my clothes to now be smaller than in high school when I weighed this amount is fascinating especially after being 100+lbs over for years!!! What is also fascinating is I tried on this skirt AFTER eating 2 baked potatoes loaded with sour cream and several deserts at my parents Christmas party. Potatoes and sour cream for years were against every diet I did and "always made me gain weight". I am so glad I worked on my fear and beliefs around food. It has been life changing.
*And don't worry, the hand around me in the high school pic is my hubby
