Color Trauma Part 2:
I now own something that is ORANGE!!!
(Continued from my post 2 weeks ago where I shared about trauma and colors, Part 1: https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10157212478963896&id=512258895 )
I have more trauma around certain colors than others. This post is about the color orange. As a red head, orange was one of the major no nos. But I loved all colors and I remember the day I wore something that was orange in elementary school. I was called a pumpkin and laughed at by several kids because of my size in the color orange along with my orange hair. I didn't wear orange for years after that.
I then got an awesome pair of orange pants in junior high and as you can guess that didn't go over well. A few years later, I remember I thought I was safe one day to wear them sophomore year in highschool, you know kids were older maybe they grew up a bit, but sadly that was not the case. I was already constantly called carrot top, fire crotch and other horrible names and the color orange just didn't help any of that. So you guessed it again, no more orange for me.
Now 15+ years later I not only bought something with orange BUT it was also in the little boys section(14/16) at Walmart and I wore it out in public today and rocked it!!!
**If you are a fellow redhead, rock that white, pink, yellow, orange and red!!!**
